It's an important question.

Do you have anyone else involved; a spouse? Have you defined an exit strategy? Is your investment from savings or outside sources?

What kinds of local tax or building incentives will you be taking advantage of? Other govt incentives?

A corporation offers some additional protections from some liabilities, but you will have to bring additional people into positions of ownership. Minor, perhaps, but it is certainly a consideration.

Talk to your accountant, and your attorney. Try to think of what might go wrong, and what advantage/disadvantage each form of ownership would provide. Then, try to estimate the risk involved.

Examine the differences in rates for your liability, worker's comp insurance, see if those make a difference.

To promote any business there are some basic points and check list which any business owner or business professional have to keep in mind.

1) Market trend and potential customers
2) Geographical location and the product popularity
3) Budget calculations ( Product cost Marketing cost)

Here you have already mentioned that you have already tried some business promotion tricks but they didn't work then you must rethink about above mentioned points. Might be you are targeting wrong customer base or spending money on advertisements by overlooking your potential market location.

Now you must try some online marketing campaigns for your business promotion because through internet you are not limiting yourself within a region or location which is unidentified on the basis of customer response. You can advertise on internet by following simple mediums which are listed below:

1) Built your own website and list your products there with your contact informations
2) Place banner adverts on advertising portals
3) Create your online community and simply promote your business through "Words of Mouth".

Here's a quick answer to that question.

It wouldn't be the same if it wasn't named the same.

You have to know what your major will be at the 4 year college. If you are finance you will take upper division finance classes and so on. I had to take a few computer courses geared towards business also. I was a marketing major, so I took classes in the different aspects of marketing such as public relations, advertising, and marketing research. But, it all depends on the major that you choose.

Linguistics is the study of the structure of human languages. While you may find it easier to learn multiple languages once you understand the underlying structure, don't expect the study to linguistics to teach you multiple languages.

The business major at the three UC campuses you mentioned are exceptionally competitive. For Berkeley, ALL lower division requirements MUST be completed in order for you to be eligible for admission consideration (so many students are ineligible that the admit rate is a measly 6%). UCLA BizEcon also requires ALL lower division requirements to be completed and has an admit rate of 14%. The UCI program is fairly new but already very competitive.

For now, focus your energy on finding and completing all the courses you need to meet the eligibility standard for the business major. Consider double major after you enroll at the UC or when you have time.

if you had 20,000 would you lend it to someone with an idea? Not if you are smart. You'd just steal the idea or tell him to go away. You won't even get $1000 without some sort of business plan. Do reasearch. You can find templates online.

You have to show them that you know what you are doing and earn their trust and confidence. if you can't explain things well then you should get a partner who can.

Any expense that is directly related to running your business may be written off. If you have a home office, you can write off part of the cost of your mortgage/rent and utilities, IF you meet the requirements of having a separate area ONLY for work. If you choose to try this, I would suggest hiring a professional tax accountant. They can tell you exactly what you need to set up and document to avoid tax problems later. Even with a professional, don't be surprised if you get a notice for an audit. A good tax accountant will go with you to explain that it is a legitimate deduction.

Gas costs can be written off only if you are doing an errand or meeting a client for the business. You will have to keep a log of mileage for this. Dinners would only be written off if it is a business dinner. Since you have set the business up as an LLC, payments would have to be made to the company, and you would pay yourself like an employee (salary, commission, bonus, etc.) You would need a separate bank account, but a business credit card is not a necessity. You can buy supplies and other items yourself and have the business reimburse you the cost.

Hi:

It looks to me like you need a short term loan. Assuming you have a good amount of equity in your current house, get a "hard money loan." It is very expensive, but you can get money over night and it can save your deal.

You get a hard money loan from a private investor. In many cases they can charge 4 points and 14% interest. With that, all terms are negotiable.

Most mortgage brokers will be more than happy to find you such a loan.
